How can I start making money today?

Frequently Asked Questions

So, I want to share my list of side hustles. Now, some of these you can get started with today (reselling) and some may take you a week to get completed (creating an online course), but here’s a great list to start with. See what works for you. Does anything catch your eye, or sound interesting? You may have to try a few to see what works for you and what you enjoy doing. This isn’t a comprehensive list of every side hustle in the world you could create, but I wanted to give you a starting point to get your creative juices flowing. Enjoy!

*Affiliate Disclosure - any time I use this “*” symbol on this page, that means that link is an affiliate link and I could earn money from you using my link if you purchase. It’s just another way to support me. If you don’t want to use the affiliate link - no problem! Just Google the name in a new browser window!

1- Affiliate Marketing

If you sign up to be an affiliate for a company, typically you share a link to a product or website and you get paid a % of what that person purchases through that link (with no additional cost to them). Every program is different, sometimes you get a flat fee each time someone purchases through your link.

A lot of companies have affiliate programs, Google the name of the company and
“affiliate program” to see if they have one. (Target!)

2- Babysitting

If you don’t work with any families now, reach out to your local place of worship to see if they have babysitting during the service, that’s a great way to get to know the kids and families you’d like to work with.

15- Print-On-Demand

Print-on-demand is a process where a company creates the product only when it is ordered. Let’s use “t-shirts” as an example. I get the dimensions of the artwork I want to upload (4500px x 5400px), create a custom image size in Canva, create the design, download the image from Canva and then upload it to the print-on-demand platform. You can create your own t-shirts and merch, but you don’t have to physically carry the inventory - it’s great, but less hassle for you, means the margins are usually lower. Check out my blog for more info on it.

  • Amazon Merch on demand - sells your items on Amazon

  • Spring (formerly Teespring) - is a print-on-demand store that sells your items on their own platform (Spring)

  • Etsy* - You can create a store on Etsy and link it with a print-on demand company (like Printful or Printify)

  • Shopify* - You can create your own online store and link it with a print-on-demand company (like Printful or Printify).

16- Real Estate

You might recognize the name Sarah Saltzberg from The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, so you can imagine the co-founder of Bohemia Realty Group completely understands what it’s like to be an actor in NYC and how being a real estate agent could fit into your schedule. If you’re interested in becoming a real estate agent, or learning more about it, feel free to reach out to Bohemia.

17- Resell Items

Don’t think you have anything valuable?

  • Go thrifting in expensive neighborhoods

  • Use “free” marketplaces

    • “free stuff” on Facebook Marketplace

    • Craigslist – “New York” -> “Manhattan” -> “For Sale” -> “Free Stuff”

18- Write a Book

Did you know you could publish your own book and sell it on Amazon? It’s amazing! Use KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) and you can create an eBook to sell on Kindle and a physical copy to sell on Amazon! They use print-on-demand technology, so a book is only printed when it’s ordered.
